Judging colour temperature 1

Three photos of a friend's face (my husband) in midday sun, midday shade and late afternoon sun (close to horizon) with white balance set to sunlight.

Full midday sun

Full midday shade
5pm Sunlight
No surprises, the results are as I expected, although the late sun is cooler the effect is warmer.  My husband looks significantly more healthy at this time of day.  You can also see more definition on his face than in the midday sun where the light is harsh and the shadows very strong.  Also interesting is the colour of his t-shirt - a much deeper blue in the evening light.
